First, make sure that your vehicle is equipped with Mitsubishi Connect by locating (but do not press) the SOS Emergency Assistance button in your vehicle. It is located above the rearview mirror in the overhead console. This button indicates that your vehicle has the Mitsubishi Connect features built in.
Second, download the My Mitsubishi Connect Mobile App from the Apple App Store or Google Play on your smartphone and start the app.
Note: If you are not the original owner of this vehicle, you can register for an account and pair the vehicle with your phone only if the previous owner canceled their Mitsubishi Connect account. However, if the previous owner did not cancel their account, you will need to contact customer care for registration assistance.
- Follow the prompts to select your region, country, and language.
- Select LET’S GET STARTED to create a new account.
- When you are near your vehicle, select SCAN OR ENTER VIN to move to the next step.
- Your mobile phone’s flashlight turns on and you can then scan the VIN located on the bottom of the driver’s side door jamb. If you cannot find it or are unable to scan it, you can select to Enter the VIN Manually.
- When entering the VIN manually, use care when entering the long sequence of numbers and letters. Note that VIN numbers do not use the letters I, O, or Q.
- Once you have confirmed the VIN, review the Terms and Conditions.
When you are ready, continue on to set up your account.
- Provide a valid email address.
- Enter a password, then retype the password. Please remember your
password for future reference. Your password must meet the following
requirements:
- Must be between 8 and 15 characters.
- Must have at least one uppercase letter.
- Must have at least one lowercase letter.
- Must have at least one special character: ! @ # $ ^ & * ( ) -.
- Must have at least one number.
- Continue following the prompts and providing the information requested.
- Enter a 4-digit PIN code, and then re-enter it to confirm. Please remember your PIN for future reference.
Note:
- If the car is a former fleet vehicle, such as a rental car, you will be prompted to call Mitsubishi Connect Customer Care for assistance.
- If the car is a former fleet vehicle that you have just received, you may need to wait up to 24 hours and turn the engine on and off during the 24-hour period before you can register.
- If this is a used vehicle that is past the two-year trial package, you may need to wait up to 24 hours and turn the engine on and off during the 24-hour period before you can register.
- If this is a used vehicle that is within the two-year trial package, the remaining time on the trial period can be transferred to the new owner.
To pair your vehicle to your mobile phone and view the trial subscription package status:
- Ensure that the vehicle gear is in the Park position and that the ignition and engine are off.
- Close all the vehicle doors.
- From the Connect Vehicle screen, touch Continue.
- With the Remote Keyless Entry in your hand and while you are close to the vehicle, review the Prepare for Pairing screen.
- Touch Start Pairing when you are ready.
- Pairing Step 1 of 2: Within 30 seconds, please press the Door UNLOCK button on your Remote Keyless Entry and wait a moment for the doors to Unlock. Then press the Door LOCK button and wait a moment for the doors to Lock.
- If successful, the mobile app recognizes that the doors were Locked by the Remote Keyless Entry, and you will see a Confirmed message. Then Step 2 of 2 will appear quickly. Skip to step 9 below.
- If unsuccessful, you will see an error message.
- Please review the pre-requisites noted in steps 1 and 2 above and then touch Retry to return to the Connect Vehicle screen.
- Return to step 3.
- If it is still unsuccessful, try moving to a different location where there is good mobile connectivity between your smartphone and your vehicle.
- Pairing Step 2 of 2: Within 1 minute, please press the Door UNLOCK button your Remote Keyless Entry.
- If successful, the mobile app recognizes that the doors were Unlocked by the Remote Keyless Entry, and you will see a Confirmed message.
- Then you will see a Registration Complete screen. Touch Continue.
- If unsuccessful, you will see an error message.
- Please review the pre-requisites noted in steps 1 and 2 above and then touch Retry to return to the Connect Vehicle screen.
- Return to step 3.
- If it is still unsuccessful, try moving to a different location where there is good mobile connectivity between your smartphone and your vehicle.
Once the setup is complete, you can sign in to begin using My Mitsubishi Connect.
