This article applies to Outlander PHEV vehicles with a 9-inch Navigation system.
You can choose to receive a plug-in reminder notification when you have a Charging Schedule enabled but you forgot to plug in the charger. After you park your vehicle at a saved location and turn the engine off, the reminder will be sent after a certain number of minutes.
Plug-in reminders have the following prerequisites:
- Plug-in reminders must be enabled for your vehicle. On the infotainment screen, navigate to "Info.", "EV", "EV Settings", "Charging Messages", and turn on "Send unplugged status to Data Center".
- You must have a saved location for plug-in reminders. On the infotainment screen, navigate to "Info.", "EV", "EV Settings", "Charging Messages", "Save Location for Unplugged Messages", and follow the prompts to save a particular location.
- You must set the number of minutes after which a notification will be sent if the charger is not plugged in. On the infotainment screen, navigate to "Info.", "EV", "EV Settings", "Charging Messages", "Delay for Unplugged Messages", and select from the choices.
- The vehicle must be parked at the saved location.
- You must have an existing Charging Schedule and it must be enabled.
- The charger is not plugged in.
Select the notification method using the Notifications screen in the mobile app or Owner’s Portal. Select the option for Scheduled Operations, Charge. See How to Manage Your Notification Preferences for information on setting up notifications.
With these settings in place, when you park your vehicle and turn the engine off, if you are at a saved location, you will be reminded within a few minutes that you should plug in your vehicle for charging.
Note: You can see how much time is required to fully charge your vehicle’s battery by selecting the lightning bolt icon to view the Charge screen. The Charge Completion time is on the left side of the screen.
