You can control the climate inside the car by using the My Mitsubishi Connect Mobile App. You can start the climate before you leave home or work in advance to bring your vehicle to a comfortable temperature.
- For Outlander PHEV vehicles, the remote climate feature uses the vehicle battery primarily. However, when the outside air temperature is lower than 15°F (-10°C), the remote climate feature starts the engine automatically to ensure heating performance. (If you are unsure whether your vehicle is eligible, please contact your dealer.) It is important to ensure that the vehicle is parked in a safe and open location outside. When starting the climate, you can set your desired temperature.
- For Outlander vehicles, the remote climate feature starts the engine automatically, so it is important to ensure that the vehicle is parked in a safe and open location outside. When starting the climate, the temperature is fixed at 25°C / 75°F.
To function properly, ensure the following:
- Your phone and the vehicle must have good cellular coverage.
- Outlander: Your vehicle must be located in an open area.
- The engine must be turned off and the vehicle gear in Park (P).
- All doors to the vehicle must be closed and locked using the key fob or the mobile app.
- The hood and trunk must be closed.
- Outlander PHEV: The battery, if not plugged into the charger, must have enough charge left to run the climate.
- Outlander PHEV: The air temperature must not be below 5°F (-15°C).
- Outlander: The vehicle key must be outside of the vehicle.
- Outlander: The brake pedal cannot be depressed.
If the remote operation is successful:
- Outlander:
- The engine remains on for approximately 10 minutes.
- The climate control turns on the heater or air conditioner and brings the interior of the vehicle to a comfortable temperature.
- After 10 minutes, the engine turns off automatically. You can repeat the Remote Climate command one additional time.
- Outlander PHEV:
- The Climate will remain on for a time period of 30 minutes to 2 hours, depending on the battery level and charger plug status.
- If the outside air temperature is lower than 15°F (-10°C), then the engine will start automatically and will run for approximately 10 minutes.
- If the Climate turns off, you can start it one additional time.
- After sending two consecutive Remote Climate commands from the My Mitsubishi Connect App or if you have not started your vehicle's engine in the last 15 days, you will need to start your engine manually and drive a short distance over 8 km/h or 5 mph. This resets the Remote Climate counter so that you can send Remote Climate commands in the future.

- Sign in to your account on the My Mitsubishi Connect Mobile App.
- Select the fan icon.
