To enhance the protection of individuals, especially survivors of domestic abuse, from unauthorized remote vehicle access, Mitsubishi Motors enables individuals to disconnect others from remote access to their Mitsubishi vehicle. This applies to Mitsubishi vehicles enabled with MITSUBISHI CONNECT, such as Eclipse Cross, Outlander, and Outlander PHEV.
To request Mitsubishi Motors to disconnect others from remote access, you must provide the following documentation:
- Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) for your Mitsubishi vehicle AND
- At least one of the following as proof of legal possession of the
vehicle:
- Vehicle title with your name indicated as owner;
- Vehicle title paired with a lease agreement with your name;
- Dissolution decree, temporary court order, or domestic violence restraining order that awards possession or exclusive use of the vehicle to the driver; or
- Proof of marriage to the owner of the car at the time the car was purchased or leased.
If you are the primary user of the MITSUBISHI CONNECT app, there are some proactive steps you can take. For help with any of the processes below, please call the Mitsubishi Connect Customer Care Center directly at 1-888-564-1411.
- Disconnect Secondary Users with access to your vehicle. (See the steps below.)
- Use the Account Settings feature in the mobile app to change your security PIN.
- Use the Account Settings feature in the mobile app to change your password.
If you are a driver of the Mitsubishi vehicle and have access to MITSUBISHI CONNECT as a Secondary User, and you are in legal possession of the vehicle, please call the Mitsubishi Connect Customer Care Center directly at 1-888-564-1411. Customer Care will request the vehicle VIN and at least one of the above-mentioned required documents as proof of legal possession of the vehicle. Upon receiving the required information and documentation, we will terminate primary account access to all the vehicle’s connected services within two (2) business days for all users including you. If you are a driver of the Mitsubishi vehicle without access to MITSUBISHI CONNECT, and you are in legal possession of the vehicle, please call the Mitsubishi Connect Customer Care Center directly at 1-888-564-1411. Customer Care will request the vehicle VIN and at least one of the above-mentioned required documents as proof of legal possession of the vehicle. Upon receiving the required information and documentation, we will terminate access to all the vehicle’s connected services within two (2) business days for all users including you. Disconnecting Secondary Users
In the United States, MITSUBISHI CONNECT users have access to the Mitsubishi Owner's Portal and the Mitsubishi Connect Mobile App. The Owner's Portal supports the ability to add or remove secondary users.
To remove secondary users, follow these steps.
- Access the Mitsubishi Owner's Portal from your web browser at https://owners.mitsubishicars.com/s/login/.
- Sign in to your account.
- Select the "My Garage" tab.
- Scroll down and sign in to Mitsubishi Connect.
- After signing in, look for "Select Telematics Vehicle" and select your vehicle's VIN from the list.
- Select "ACCESS CONTROLS."
- Scroll down to the User Management section and look for the user that you want to remove.
- Click the trash can icon next to the secondary user to remove.
- If prompted, confirm the removal of this user.
